Adorable small Louis Vuitton cabin trunk from the 1880s, featuring moresque-patterned steel borders and the Maison’s early striped canvas introduced in 1872 to combat counterfeiting. This cabin-size model, just 33 cm high, was designed to slide under first-class berths on transatlantic liners, embodying practical elegance and the early art of travel.

It is fitted with a brass Louis Vuitton–stamped lock and still retains its original key. The interior is lined in cotton canvas with quilted padding and bears the original label listing the Maison’s exhibition awards. In very good condition, the trunk shows a beautiful patina to the metal trim, a well-preserved exterior, and a clean, complete interior.
